HALIFAX 50+ FITNESS free walking club and outdoor fitness & Yoga classes. I’ve created theses classes to be affordable, social and community centred. For fresh air fitness enthusiasts of the boomer age.

FREE WALKING CLUB
Join us for fitness walks on beautiful Chain-of-Lakes trail. This is a 45-minute walk. We follow the 10-and-one beginner protocol. Importantly this means: walk 10-minutes, stretch for one minute. Repeat 4-rounds. Definitely this walking pace is comfortable enough for talking and also challenging enough to improve your fitness level.
Particularly, there is no power walking or speed walking. Absolutely, if you’re not familiar with Chain-of-Lakes Trail it’s flat, paved and lovely to walk on!
Without a doubt, this free weekly walking club will strengthen your heart, build muscle tone and increase bone mass density.
You can walk at your own pace and all fitness levels welcome!

BEGINNER FITNESS IN THE PARK
Get fit in the great outdoors! This weekly workout in the park incorporates gentle warm up, low-impact cardio and body-weight strengthening exercises. As well as core conditioning and cool down stretch.
In fact this is the perfect exercise class if you are a health-conscious baby boomer and also like the concept of small group training.
So you know what to expect, the class format is based upon low intensity ‘circuit training’. Circuit training is a workout technique involving a series of exercises performed in rotation with rest in between each ‘circuit’.
Furthermore, so you get the best and safest workout for your body…
…personalized attention and modifications provided for every exercise.

GENTLE STRETCH YOGA
Begin your day in the park with gentle movement, slow-flow stretch and restorative breath work,
I’ve designed this Yoga class specifically for beginners. With this in mind each week you’ll not only notice increased flexibility but also balance confidence. As a result you’ll also have better posture. Additionally, with regular attendance, you may also notice a naturally lowered resting heart rate.
In particular, caring individual attention ensures every student learns how to modify the stretches for their body.
To finish your Yoga practice enjoy a calming Tao neck massage. Lay back, breathe & relax…..

Exercising outside gives a feel good factor that you don’t get from indoor workouts! Moreover, open skies, fresh air, lush greenery and warm sunshine feels amazing! As well as that, even rainy-day workouts have their own special appeal. Last but not least, clear your head, sleep better and gain body confidence! Without a doubt it’s hard not to feel happier getting fit in the great outdoors!
