HALIFAX OUTDOOR 55+ FITNESS STRENGTH & YOGA CLASSES

To thrive in good physical and mental health, I‘m of the belief that we all appreciate social connection together with activity, especially in these times. Creating fitness programs for 55+ outdoor enthusiasts in Halifax, Nova Scotia, I provide free walking clubs plus strength & yoga classes in the park. Moreover these programs are affordable, social and community centred. All the while you’re learning safe and enjoyable exercise and stretch routines in a co-ed and non-intimidating atmosphere.

Furthermore, I think fitness in social gatherings is not only fun but can also relieve stress and make the workout feel easier. Let’s get fit and stay healthy together in the great outdoors!

I’m a huge advocate of fresh air fitness. And I’m hoping I will safely be able to teach my classes this Spring 2021. My goal is to start them April 1st, so keep checking back for start dates. Thank you!

Free Walking Club

Did you know walking is the safest form of exercise and is one of the most beneficial as well. Join us for free fitness walks on the beautiful Chain-of-Lakes Trail What you can look forward to is a walking pace challenging enough to improve your fitness level and also comfortable for talking.

Particularly, there is no power walking or speed walking. And if you’re not familiar with Chain-of-Lakes Trail it’s flat, paved and lovely to walk on! Without a doubt, this free weekly walking club will strengthen your heart, improve muscle tone, help to build bone mass density and increase your lung capacity.

You can walk at your own pace and all fitness levels welcome!

FIT FRIDAY
Beginner Strength Conditioning in the Park

Would you like to get fit and strong in the great outdoors! This workout in the park incorporates warm up, low-impact cardio, body-weight resistance training and core conditioning plus cool down stretch. In fact, this is the perfect exercise class if you love the outdoors and like the concept of small group training.

So you know what to expect, the class format is based upon ‘circuit training’. And circuit training is a sequence of exercises that are performed in rotation with rest in between each circuit. Furthermore, so you get the best and safest workout for your body, you can look forward to…

Personal attention and modifications provided for every exercise.

STRETCH SUNDAY
Slow Flow Yoga in the Park

Would you like to start your day with slow-flow Yoga in the park. A flowing sequence of Yoga postures designed to tone and stretch your muscles.

I’ve put together this Yoga class to combine flexibility plus strength. With this in mind each week you’ll not only notice more flexibility and also stronger muscles. Additionally, with regular attendance, you may also notice a naturally lowered resting heart rate, improved posture and better balance. In particular, caring individual attention ensures every student learns how to modify the postures for their body.

And to finish your Yoga practice enjoy a calming Tao neck massage. Lay back, breathe & relax…..
